Give the reader what they need

What size does podcast cover art need to be?
The major directories ask for a large square, commonly 3000x3000, and check it before accepting a feed. Render at the size the directory specifies rather than upscaling a smaller file.
Why does my cover look wrong in a podcast app?
Usually because it was judged at full size. Apps show it as a small square, and some crop it to a circle, so anything near the corners or set small disappears.
